about

"We are The Empyreal Children. We stand where all else fell," The Warden (Sagittarius) said as she glimpsed the faces of her remaining siblings. "I did not intend for Aries to follow Cancer's body. It is a tragedy, and I claim full responsibility. But, we cannot break apart. We've outlasted the end of civilization, and we must continue moving forward. Ever onward. I would persuade you all to join The Council. We can rebuild out of what remains."

"You sicken me, sister." The Forgotten (Ophiuchus) howled. "I left a long time ago to only return to this. You are no leader. This isn't the first time one of your schemes wrought havoc on these lands. What did you intend to achieve by rebirth? To be so certain death guarantees a new life shows how foolish you really are."

"And, what does that mean, Ophiuchus?" The Warden (Sagittarius) questioned. "We are The Empyreal Children. We are permanent."

"Through so many lives, you never thought about what saved us?" The Forgotten (Ophiuchus) asked and sighed. "You haven't ever thought about why nobody else is left? For someone so intent on remembering the past, you sure seem to skip over a lot of the details. Our titles betray us. Or, perhaps, it is just the opposite. If you feel no need to be The Warden any longer, I'd suggest you change your name. Perhaps, I will do the same. I shall take no place in The Council. As such, I will take my leave now." The Forgotten vanished again.

"What of the rest of you?" The Warden (Sagittarius) asked. "Will you join me?"

"I will," The Idealist (Pisces) said and stood by her shoulder. One of The Cultists (Taurus) joined her.

For a moment, The Council worked to secure a tomorrow. It was a tomorrow that could never be. The planet was cracking as all others had. The Warden believed the apocalypse could be averted, but no options remained. As such, she devised a plan: she would follow her goals wherever she ended up next. She desired the throne, wherever that was.

The Forgotten returned and ravaged her rule. He wanted to protect the remaining children and do his best to shepherd them to a new life. All of the remaining members resigned and followed his rule. He spoke of an end, the final end. He knew of what would come next, if they were to not leave. He also knew of an escape; The Rift would open up once more.

"We must leave now," The Forgotten begged. The remaining children followed his lead, and they all drifted onward...

An Empyreal Child Orlando, Florida

I am a mad man with a music box. Would you like to hear an endtime ballad? We can sit in silence, if you'd like. I hear the music in my head.
